Meet Joel Zar
A photograph is a fleeing moment captured as a physical memory, a visual diary to ponder on, a way to pause time. I would characterize my style as photojournalistic and fine arts photography, capturing the moments as they happen and allow time for beautiful portraits. As a photographer I am the time keeper of the whole day, from beginning to end, anything can happen. Keeping a level head, improvising at critical times while still capturing alluring photos is what I aim to do. It is way more than just photos, it is people management, it is courtesy, it is trust between the couple and the photographer, I want your day to be as enjoyable as possible and your photos timeless and elegant.
I’ve always been an artist at heart, everything I have done in my life has been influenced by my ability to be creative, photography is another means to an end in my search for fulfillment. I tried the 9-5 before and I felt like my soul was slowly dying. Shooting close to 500 weddings and still love what you do is a blessing many people don’t get to experience, for that I am very thankful.
We will work together from beginning to end from pre-wedding day planning advice, wedding day advice and post wedding day. Pre-wedding prep is crucial to a stress free wedding, we will allocate times for everything especially downtime and follow them to a T. We don’t want your wedding day to feel pressured. Wedding day, some people are nervous, excited, worried about small details and forget to do the simplest things, like use the bathroom before getting in your wedding dress, I had a bride tell me she almost peed walking down the aisle. Post wedding doesn’t mean our relationship is over, no no no, in fact it has begun. We will choose images for your beautiful album, perhaps large prints, get coffee, anything really.
In the coming years I will be implementing 35mm film photography and medium format look to my style. YOU Must take a selfie with me no matter what, anytime during the day, it is a requirement.
